Official Visit
An official visit is a campus visit paid for by the college, limited to 48 hours, with a maximum of five official visits per recruit (one per school for D1). Recruits may begin taking official visits starting August 1 before their senior year for most sports.
Official visits signal serious mutual interest — a school invests money in bringing an athlete to campus.
The recruiting calendar determines when official visits are permitted, so timing depends on the sport and period.
